When I moved in as a Freshman, I didn’t know anyone at Syracuse University because I was from California. Coming to the cold of Syracuse and going to a school across the nation and not knowing anything, it was a huge change in my life. It could have been a difficult transition, I could have stayed inside my dorm and focus just on school work and not have gotten involved on campus. However, I had a mentor who guided me. I got a lot of great advice about settling into college but most importantly I had a friend I could confide in. Without that relationship my freshman year, I don’t know how successful I would have been in college.
